Silver Covention were a German Euro Disco act formed in the 1970s. Originally named Silver Bird or Silver Bird Convention, they scored a Top 30 hit in the UK in 1975 and after a name change they had two major hit singles on the US and Canadian charts. Between 1975 and 1979 they released five studio albums and 14 singles.
They represented their homeland in the 1977 Contest in London, finishing in eighth place. They were arguably the most established entrants that year thanks to their major chart success throughout Europe, the US and Canada.
Post break up, band member Rhonda Heath returned to the Eurovision stage in 1994 in Dublin, providing backing vocals and keyboards for the German entry Wir geben 'ne Party performed by girl group Mekado, which finished in third place.
