Sandie Shaw is an English singer. She launched her career in the early 1960s and came to fame with the song "There's Always Something There to Remind Me", which peaked at #1 on the UK charts.
Three years later, she represented the United Kingdom on the Eurovision stage with the song Puppet on a String, winning the Contest with 47 points and giving the nation its first of five wins, which would span the next three decades. She performed without shoes on because she couldn't see the stage all that well, and so she needed to feel where the edge was.
Between 1965 and 1988, she released seven studio albums and several singles and continued to be a popular figure in the UK until she announced her retirement from music in early 2013.
