Morocco made their first and only appearance in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1980, where they finished 18th out of 19 with Bitaqat Hob. As of late, SNRT has shown no interest in returning to the Eurovision Song Contest. However, it is possible for Morocco's second national channel, 2MTV, to obtain EBU membership and compete in the future, and they have expressed interest in doing so.

Future[]
- A rival Moroccan broadcaster to SNRT, 2MTV, has expressed their intention to join the EBU. 2MTV, considered to be a source of free speech and taboo-breaking in Morocco and for the Moroccan diaspora around Europe, could give the Moroccan people another way of competing at Eurovision.
- 2MTV is currently applying for active EBU membership and should this be granted, the broadcaster would have the option of entering the contest.
