Maxi Garden (born Meike Gärtner) and Chris Garden (born Chris Gärtner) are a German mother and daughter duo who represented Germany in the Eurovision Song Contest 1988 in Dublin with the song Lied für einen Freund, which finished in 14th place.
Their first Eurovision attempt came in 1987 when the finished second in the German pre-selection with the song "Frieden für die Teddybär’n".
Maxi went on to study music at the Universität der Künste Berlin and appeared in many stage productions. She also had a Top 10 single in Austria as part of the girl trio "Aschenputtel".
Nowadays, Meike continues to be a singer and is also a music teacher in Mainz.
