Jahn Teigen was a Norwegian singer, musician and comedian. He started his career in the late 1960s, but did not have his first commercial success until the early 1970s.
He represented Norway at Eurovision on three different occasions, but it was his first appearance at the Eurovision Song Contest 1978 in Paris that fans remember the most. Performing the song Mil Etter Mil in an over-the-top fashion out of the cursed second spot, he finished in last place with the dreaded Nul Points. Ironically, the song became a big hit in Norway despite the result, spending over 20 weeks on the Norwegian chart peaking at #1, later titling his album released that year This Year's Loser inspired by his appearance at the contest. Because of this, he is considered by many Eurovision fans to be the most famous "Nul Pointer" of all time.
His second attempt was at the Eurovision Song Contest 1982 in Harrogate where he performed the song Adieu with his wife Anita Skorgan, who represented Norway previously in 1977 and 1979. As a duet, they finished in 12th place.
His third attempt was his most successful. At the Eurovision Song Contest 1983 in Munich, he performed the song Do Re Mi. This time, he finished in the top 10, placing 9th.
He passed away on 24 February 2020 at the age of 70.
