Hoffmann & Hoffmann were a German singing duo consisting of brothers Michael Hoffmann and Günter Hoffmann. Their first chart success came in 1977 when they reached the German Top 20 chart with a cover version of The Bellamy Brothers' "Crossfire". They had four further minor hits before appearing at the 1983 Contest on home soil.
Their entry proved to be their biggest hit but less than a year later, Günter Hoffmann committed suicide at the age of 32 by jumping from a hotel window in Rio de Janeiro on 15 March 1984.
Thereafter, Michael Hoffmann worked mainly as a producer and composer for artists including fellow Eurovision veterans Gitte, Wencke Myhre and Nicole. In 1987, he entered the German Eurovision heats as a solo singer but finished in 5th place. He has since gone on to become a producer of spiritual and meditative music.
