József "Joci" Pápai is a Hungarian singer and guitarist of Romani descent. He is influenced by soul, pop, R&B and folk music, and started music at an early age influenced by his brother. He made his public debut in 2005 and achieved his greatest success in 2015 with the song Mikor a test örexik, a collaboration with the rapper Majka.
He represented Hungary at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kiev with the song Origo and finished in 8th place in the final, giving his country its best-scoring entry to date.
Two years later, he won A Dal again, and represented Hungary at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with Az én apám. However, this time, he failed to qualify after finishing in 12th place in the first semifinal, making it the first time since the creation of A Dal that this has happened.
