Edyta Górniak is a Polish singer, one of the most popular in her country's pop music scene. She started her career in 1990 as a musical theatre actress starring in the show Metro, which the most popular and longest-running production in Polish history. It went to Broadway, however it only ran for about two weeks.

Edyta is best known for being Poland's very first representative at Eurovision when she took part in the 1994 contest in Dublin with the song To nie ja. Though threatened with disqualification at one point for singing in English during the jury final, she went on to finish a distant second behind Ireland. Nonetheless, it was the best effort by a debut nation at that time (Serbia eclipsed that when it won in 2007) and remains Poland's best-ever finish at the contest.

She tried again to represent her country in 2016 with the song "Grateful", but finished in third place behind eventual winner Michał Szpak and fan favorite Margaret.
