Alexandra Maquet, known professionally as Alma, is a French singer and songwriter. The oldest of three girls, she started music at an early age and completed a degree in business while in university. She speaks fluent English, French, Italian and Portuguese having spent time in the United States, Italy and Brazil with her family.
She was the opening act for her Eurovision predecessor Amir on his national tour, and he became a valued friend and mentor to her. On 5 May, she released her debut album Ma peau aime.
On 9 February 2017, it was announced by French head of delegation Edoardo Grassi that she would represent France at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kiev with the song Requiem, finishing in 12th place in the final.

- Her stage name is made up of the first two letters of both her first and last name (Alexandra Maquet), the same as Azerbaijan representative DiHaj.
